‘Twas the night before cookies and milk and presents and wrapping paper and food and Christmas trees and stockings and….
And as quickly as the elves came, Christmas is gone. Toys are being wrestled into submission. You feel guilty for eating too much. All the hype of what you are going to find underneath the tree is gone. And just like the snow vanishes, your Christmas cheer is gone.
A few weeks ago I was praying how I could help people have a cheerful Christmas season. For some of us (me included) the holidays are tough. I was on my bike (d-oh) and I was thinking of cookies. Specifically, Food Network’s 12 Days of Christmas. Hmm, yummy warm, gooey, chocolate chip cookies….oh where was I…Yes, on my bike.
It dawned on me that I could start a series called 25 Days of Cheer. Instead of satisfying your sweet tooth, satisfy others this season. And when the wrapping paper is in the trash can and you want to kill the person who invented toys that need a PhD to put together, you’ll step back and remember that it’s not about the toys. Or the cookies (wheat free of course). Or the milk. It’s about others. Bringing cheer to those that need it. Perhaps yourself.
Goal: To inspire people to do one simple thing each day for someone else, live a healthier life + spread cheer.
Each day will feature an author and their way for you to spread cheer this season. I still have a few dates available, so if you would like to contribute,
