Then NM 2009 is over. I tried to pace Ingvill for as long as possible in the 1500m today. I did what I could but still that wasn’t good enough to make the B-standard for the Worlds (4.09.00). With 4.09.62 and 4.09.96 earlier she’s been close. Now she ran 4.10.60 and that’s pretty good too!
Why I did it? Many asked me that question and of course I have thought about that too.
First, Ingvill believes she can run much better than 4.09.00 and our coach, Knut, believes she can run much faster than that at the moment. So, there was a real chance that she could make it today with the great conditions at Lillehammer.
Second, I had a good race yesterday in the 800m. Lot’s of answers are given for me this weekend. This season was meant for me to get back into shape and get the good feeling again. I have managed that in some of my races and I’m happy about that.
Yes, I ruined my chances to win another medal today. I know I would have been up for the silver in any other pace, but I made a choice and I did my best to help. Next time Ingvill will help me to run below 4.20, which is my aim for this season.
