We’re back! I use the royal we here obviously. I have not added a fellow editor or a baby with four names, one of which will provide the child with an ‘VIII’ after his or her name.
The posting schedule for the upcoming women’s hockey season (yay!) will be Thursday, Sunday, Tuesday. There will, as usual, be lots of of discussion of the U.S. college game. I plan to expand my coverage of Junior hockey as well as finally make good on my promise to be able to calculate GVT or its equivalent so I can have a real statistical way of distinguishing between player performances. My first post of the year will be about how we should deal with the virulently anti-gay Russian situation. Spoiler: while I don’t think the U.S., Canada, or other human-rights concerned nations should ultimately boycott, I think dismissal out of hand is underestimating the problem. Although it’s not like China has a fantastic record on human rights and I don’t remember hearing boycott discussion on this kind of scale in 2008. There is nothing unique about The Gays that could not also apply to treatment of political dissidents, women, ethnic minorities…you know what, come back on SundayPowered by Sidelines
