I have weeks without great improvement, or splits far from what I’m aiming for.
But it’s important to remind yourself why you are training. You should also figure out reasons for lack of improvement. There’s always a reason.
Maybe your workload was to heavy for a long period, or the training harder than what your body could take for more days than you thought… There are many reasons!
I find it much easier to get out and do my training when the roads are cleared of snow and the sun is shining! Switching the clock to summertime also helps a lot!
Today I was suppose to have two threshold interval sessions and work full day…
That’s almost too much for me. So I decided to run the longest session first indoors at Bislett Stadium. Then eat and drink, go to work, and then run a shorter session on the treadmill after work. Then home for dinner!
I was able to make my workday shorter and that helped a lot:)
I found so much motivation in my first session today. I was alone at the indoor track for almost the whole session. It was fantastic to feel the narrow corridors with the two lanes. When you’re alone there it’s so much easier to concentrate and focus on my own workout. Such a great experience!
I hope you have a training session that motivates you or a favorite place to work out when motivation is fading… It could be easier to to get the training done, than staying on the couch..
