The Atlanta Dream announced today that they have waived guard Sydney Carter and veteran forward Cathrine Kraayeveld in addition to suspending forward Yelena Leuchanka to finalize their roster at 11 players.
That means a pair of somewhat surprising rookies have made their roster: 31st pick Anne Marie Armstrong from Georgia and Courtney Clements of San Diego State, who went unselected in the 2013 WNBA Draft.
Clements was the leading scorer (17.9 ppg) for a talented San Diego State team that fell in the Mountain West Conference title game back in March. Armstrong’s most memorable moment to many women’s college basketball fan probably came in the Elite Eight in a dramatic loss to the California Golden Bears.
