We are previewing the upcoming CFA featherweight tournament with interviews with participants. The event will stream live on the Ustream for $8 this Saturday March 2.
The name Berto has become synonymous with fighting; be it boxing or MMA. Revelina Berto is hoping to make her name in the female divisions, coming into the CFA tournament having yet to taste defeat; but coming off a long break. She will take on Peggy Morgan in the opening round.
Wombat Sports: You are coming off a long break from MMA. How has it been getting back into training?
Revelina Berto: I know right! It’s been about 4 years!!! But, I have always been in training; just the girls I am schedule to fight get injured right before the fight date. I am young, so it’s easy to jump back into it.
Wombat: You have a solid boxing pedigree behind you. Are you and your brothers pretty competitive?
Berto: We are very competitive at everything we do; like who can finish the food on their plate the fastest! But, we are more competitive against people who don’t carry the last name Berto, haha. Whenever we are competitive with each other, referring to this sport, it’s never in a negative envies way, it’s always in a way to bring out the best in one another.
W.S.: You are drawing Peggy Morgan in the opening round, and she is also undefeated and has fought more recently. What are you expecting coming in?
R.B.: I am expecting a tough female standing across the cage from me ready to rip me to shreds! I am excited, because I know it’s going to be a GOOD FIGHT!
W.S.: How has it been to work with CFA?
R.B.: This is my first time working with CFA. So far they have treated me with love and respect. My brother and my cousin had fought for this company. CFA has open up sooo many doors for them. My brother and my cousin will be fighting for Bellator on Spike TV on March 23th, so CFA is the place to be to jump start any up and coming MMA fighter!
W.S.: Anything you’d like to add/thank?
R.B.: I am soooo READY FOR SATURDAY TO COME!!!!!! Haha I will have to thank my team, my whole community for showing me sooooo much love and support, and the kids that are in the classes I sub for; that think I am the coolest sub EVER, because of what I do.
