Today I visited the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training. They wanted some coaching/help/inspiration/encouragement for Holmenkollstafetten. That is the biggest relay I know of. The relay is 15 legs from 390m-2450m through the streets of Oslo. This is a relay for the best athletic clubs in Norway as well as any business who want to participate.
For some of the smaller clubs it’s difficult to find 15 runners who like to run middle distance legs. But it’s so much fun out there, and I think many push themselves the hardest they can that day!
Anyway, the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training are actually running three teams this year. I think that’s really impressive. I hope they run well and give their best:).
I think it’s a great think that people working together every day also can make a team or three(!), put on those shorts and give it all!! Lots to chat about Monday morning as well…
My club, IK Tjalve, won last years women elite class. But, we disqualified ourselves because of one issue with one our new members. Long story, this year she is a fully Tjalve member and we are really happy to have her in our club! I hope and think we have a great team this year. This is the beginning of 2009-season!
The relay is next Saturday, May 9th. Stay tuned for updates on my team and me!
Got this link from my coach yesterday…
I really hope he doesn’t push us this hard next winter…
