I splurged this week. Big time. About a year ago, P insisted we test ride some Cervelos. It was raining and we were tired and sore from racing Wildflower the day before. I was less interested in the bike, because I was set with my pretty Contessa and couldn’t fathom spending so much on yet another bike. But the bike road like a dream. It was sharp, smooth, solid, responsive and pretty much awesome. But I let that dream go on the back burner.
Then the 2010 model came out. And it’s ugly. Okay, well, not ugly, but definitely not as slick looking. I’m not one to pretend, I definitely care what it looks like! So I went on a hunt to find the 2009 model in my size, on sale. Problem. There are not many 48’s in this world and it seemed they’d all been snatched up.
But then, I found it! Only a week after Preston brought his 2009 home, I went to grab mine. Yep, we are now road bike twins. So embarrassing. But I’d like to highlight that mine is cuter for several reasons: it’s super petite, but has 700c wheels (super!), it has black bar tape rather than dirt (I mean white) bar tape, it has a unique black Easton fork, and a black saddle rather than one that shows dirt, Gatorade, GU, etc.
Next up, Mt. Tam hill repeats, who’s in?
