Six months after being diagnosed with cancer, Kent State head coach Danielle O’Banion announced on twitter, that she is now in remission.
On November 12, Kent State’s Danielle O’Banion got some very troubling news. The third-year head coach learned that she had Stage 2 lymphoma disease. When one usually gets this type of diagnosis, the voyage that they have to embark on can be a scary and lonely one, to say the least.
But, anyone who knows the Golden Flashes’ leader understood that O’Banion was going to one thing: fight. This is what she had to say once she got her early diagnosis: “I am extremely grateful for my early diagnosis and eager to attack treatment in the months ahead.”
And after six months of giving cancer an “attacking full-court press”, O’Banion announced on twitter, that she is now in remission.
