Louisville gets top recruit Sydney Zambrotta

Louisville has added to their 2016 class with another bang, as they have gotten a verbal commitment from top-flight guard Sydney Zambrotta.

Top recruit, Sydney Zambrotta, has decided to continue her basketball career at the University of Louisville. Hailing from New York, the 5-foot-9 combo guard made her pledge this weekend while visiting the Cardinals this weekend.

Zambrotta, who is know for her flare and swagger, chose Louisville over finalists Minnesota, Miami and South Carolina. She comes from the same high school, Chris the King, that has produced WNBA stars such as Tina Charles, Sue Bird and Chamique Holdsclaw.

“I felt so welcome when I got there, I just enjoyed hanging out with the girls more and more,” said Zambrotta. “And when I saw their workouts, and their desire to win a National Championship, and I knew that’s where I wanted to be. I’m truly looking forward to playing in front of Card Nation.”

She is the Cardinals’ second commitment for the 2016 class. They also have a verbal from 6-foot-5 Kylee Shook from Colorado Springs.
