After building a thirteen point lead at halftime, Michigan was able to hold off Detroit who made a furious comeback in the second half. Detroit was able to cut Michigan’s lead to two points with 3:15 to play but Michigan was able to extend its lead and win, 61-51. Kate Thompson led Michigan with 16 points while Rachel Sheffer contributed 14 points and Jenny Ryan almost had a double-double with 9 points and 11 assists. Shareta Brown had 15 points and 11 rebounds for Detroit while her teammate Senee Shearer also had 15 points. Michigan is off to its best start under head coach Kevin Borseth at 9-1.
