Major League Baseball is among the professional sports leagues catering to its female fans through fashion. This year, the league launched the “Fields of Fashion” initiative, a series of events at arious ballparks throughout the season, meant to fuse together baseball, lifestyle and fashion. Most recently, “Fields of Fashion” visited the MLB Fan Cave in New York City. The event was hosted by MLB Network’s Sam Ryan.
The evening included an exclusive fashion show, with a wide array of MLB-themed apparel and accessories on display. Among the runway models were players’ wives, including Amber Sabathia, wife of CC Sabathia, and Erin Robertson, wife of David Robertson. The featured fashions, from brands like Touch by Alyssa Milano, Majestic, Victoria’s Secret PINK, ’47 Brand, Dooney & Bourke, and Alex & Ani, showcased the extensive offerings now available for women. Items are feminine and fashion-forward, and styles appeal to all types of female fans with a range of silhouettes and fits. Sabathia told MLB.com that the Dooney & Bourke handbags were among her favorite pieces:
“I love the Dooney & Bourke bag,” said Amber Sabathia, wife of CC Sabathia, after modeling two outfits during the fashion show at the MLB Fan Cave. “I actually saw the beginning of the design process within the Yankees. I think it’s adorable how they take a purse that’s so known for its brand, a really good leather purse, but make it where you can take it to the ballpark.”
