Here he is! All 12 lbs of fur, my new running buddy to be, Huck. We picked him up after a long and early 4 hour drive on Sunday. He’s adjusted well to the new family, showing us lots of affection with plenty of puppy kisses and tail wagging. He’s pretty much perfect.
I can tell he’s going to be a good runner, every time I take him out to potty, he’ll run around like it’s time to play. He also likes to dart down our hall way from the living room to the bedroom when we’re in separate rooms. He’s already excelling at staying hydrated. So hydrated in fact that he’s probably drank at least 4 times his body weight in the past 48 hours. I can no longer count how many times he’s peed inside on one hand. Or two hands for that matter. But with a face this cute, you can’t really get mad!
He already has recovery down very well, he loves to fall asleep every 30 minutes. He’s taken to sleeping under our coffee table, which has a rather low clearance of about a foot. He barely fits under there now, and in a few weeks he’s going to learn the hard way that it simply can’t be done any more.
We can’t teach him running with us until he’s at least a year. Until then, he’ll keep working on his indoor sprints, hydration methods and recovery naps.Powered by Sidelines
