Cincinnati’s Emily Hebbeler Will Be Looking To Rise Up Against Illinois
Cincinnati vs Illinois (7:00)
Cincy is a team still looking for a little respect and a win to stamp their NCAA Tournament resume with. The Bearcats have opened the season with a six match undefeated streak, but the draw with Northwestern looks a little worse given the Wildcats’ recent erratic form, while a win over Wisconsin won’t mean much if the Badgers don’t get their act together. A win over Illinois would be a feather in their cap however, with the Illini enjoying a fine season thus far. Janet Rayfield’s team will be eager to prove that last weekend’s loss against UConn was just a tiny blip as they march towards Big Ten conference play.
BYU vs Marquette (9:00)
Two teams looking to shake off some offensive malaise after mid-week struggles in front of goal. Marquette must feel like it’s Groundhog Day after yet another match in which they dominated statistically but were foiled by a combination of poor finishing and a strong night by the opposing goalkeeper. BYU were stifled at home by LSU as the Cougars lost their 100% record in a scoreless draw. Golden Eagles’ keeper Natalie Kulla figures to have her hands full with a potent BYU attack led by Jennie Marshall and Carlee Payne. Expect another bumper crowd in one of college soccer’s best environments.
