Brooke Knowlton and Boston College Went Goal Crazy Against Yale
Where has the time gone? We’re a third through the regular season and most schools finish non-conference play this weekend. The Big East also begins conference play this weekend. Before the weekend’s madness, here’s some notables from this week’s midweek clashes.
-Tatiana Ariza had two goals and Andy Quiceno had a pair of assists for Austin Peay as they hammered Alabama A&M, 6-0.
-Rachel Harker had two assists for Arkansas-Pine Bluff as they defeated Louisiana-Monroe, 2-1.
-Brown got a Carly Ruiz equalizer against Army with fifty-seconds left and then won it at the end of the first half of extra time with a goal from Louisa Pitney.
-Brooke Knowlton walked away with the match ball for Boston College as she scored a hat trick in the Eagles’ 7-0 mugging of Yale. Victoria DiMartino also had a goal and two assists for the winners.
-Bryant scored two goals in the final twelve minutes to erase a 2-0 deficit and earn a hard fought draw against Holy Cross.
-Nicole Levermann scored twice for The Citadel as they beat up South Carolina State, 4-1.
-Rachel Shelnutt had two goals and an assist for Furman as they came from behind to clobber UNC Asheville, 4-1. Martha Hall also had a pair of goals for the Paladins.
-Danielle Toney scored twice for Penn State and Christine Nairn tallied a pair of assists as the Nittany Lions got back in the win column against Bucknell, 5-1.
-UMBC gagged away a 2-0 lead, came back to equalize at 3-3, before falling 4-3 to George Mason in a wild encounter that saw seven goals in forty-six minutes. Zoe Doherty scored a pair for GMU, including the winner, while Omolyn Davis had a pair of assists.
