Did you SEE the New Orleans/Atlanta game? That was ridiculous. I’m almost (almost) glad that the Steelers slaughtered the Bucs so thoroughly that I didn’t feel like I had to focus on the Tampa Bay game like I normally do.
Atlanta Falcons 27, New Orleans Saints 24
Holy shit, this was an exciting game! A division game! Overtime! Missed field goals! Long runs! Long throws! Interceptions! Sacks! A great upset! Everyone played well. This what I want all football games to be like.
The only thing it was missing was a safety. Safeties make me happy. I have no idea why.
Tennessee Titans 29, New York Giants 10
Well, well, well. Remember back in week one when the Giants came out looking like a contender? Yeah. What happened to that team?
Cincinnati Bengals 20, Carolina Panthers 7
No surprises here.
Pittsburgh Steelers 38, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13
That score makes the game sound a lot closer than it actually was.
I don’t want to talk about it.
Buffalo Bills 30, New England Patriots 38
Cleveland Browns 17, Baltimore Ravens 24
These games were both closer than I expected them to be, but as anticipated the Pats and the Ravens won.
San Francisco 49ers 10, Kansas City Chiefs 31
This brings The Kansas City Chiefs to 3-0 and the San Francisco 49ers 0-3.
No, I’m not joking. Matt Cassel threw for three touchdowns this week. Brett Favre threw two touchdowns this week. Against Detroit.
The word you are looking for is “dumbfounded”.
Dallas Cowboys 27, Houston Texans 13
I am neither a Dallas fan nor apologist, but it is about time. I mean, the Cowboys are still last in their division, but at least they won one. Honestly, I’m a Bucs fan, I am used to losing, but Dallas supporters are not very good sports. THE WHINING! OH GOD, THE WHINING!
Plus, Romo quarterbacks for both of my money fantasy football teams. Let’s go Tony!
He’s a doofus, but he is my doofus – at least for this season.
Detroit Lions 10, Minnesota Vikings 24
Speaking of Brett Favre, and also speaking of teams that were supposed to be really good and aren’t, Minnesota finally got a win.
This team is too good to keep losing, but I can’t help rooting against Favre these days. When he played for Green Bay I secretly loved him, now I just keep expecting him to retire right before Thanksgiving and un-retire again in December just so he can eat turkey at home.
Washington Redskins 16, St. Louis Rams 30
I think KBO said it best when she said “Duuuuude, the Rams won and the whole city of St Louis was confused.”
I told her that Washington D.C. feels the same exact way.
Philadelphia Eagles 28, Jacksonville Jaguars 3
Why is everyone acting like it is such a surprise that Michael Vick is a worthy starting quarterback? Remember Atlanta? Vick is great. His football prowess was never in question. It wasn’t like he was benched.
He was in prison.
Good Quarterback – Bad Person.
He has always been good. He has a great arm and he is fast as shit. His biggest football problems are that he takes too many risks and he doesn’t protect the ball when he scrambles.
Vick is a great quarterback. Stop acting surprised Philadelphia. He will take you places if you can stand rooting for him.
Indianapolis Colts 27, Denver Broncos 13
Kyle Orton threw for a career high 476 yards and the Broncos still lost to the Colts.
Poor Broncos fans.
Oakland Raiders 23, Arizona Cardinals 24
If you had told me that this game was going to be interesting I would have laughed in your face, but you would have been right. Especially if you only watched the first quarter. That is where almost all of the scoring happened.
San Diego Chargers 20, Seattle Seahawks 27
Leon Washington returned a kickoff 101 yards for a touchdown. Later he ran 99 yards for another score. That is pretty impressive.
I bet his mother is proud.
I bet Leon Washington was tired.
I bet the Seattle special teams coach is looking for a new job.
New York Jets 31, Miami Dolphins 23
Even without Revis the Jets look good. Not that I stayed awake for the game…
Green Bay Packers 17, Chicago Bears 20
The Chicago Bears are 3-0. The Chicago Bears are winning the NFC North.
I can’t believe it either.
The Bears have already won two division games. The NFC North might be where the action is this season.
Stay tuned next week when there will be fewer games!
