There’s always a lot of post-meet analysis any time you have a Diamond League meet or other similar high-level competition. I’ll throw my two cents into the ring as well, as the Monday Morning Decathlete is going into hiatus.
The absolute best breakdown of what happened and what it all means is provided by LetsRun.com, but is concentrated almost completely on the distance events. So I’m going to put my efforts into the sprints and hurdles and field events.
(Note: I’m a distance guy and coach distance runners, so you’d think that’s where my expertise lies. But I’m not terribly good at either racing or coaching distance runners, and I seem to understand the other events better. This is probably related to the fact that my high school coach and traveling companion to major meets is similarly expert in the technical and power events and only has a basic understanding of distance events.)

Women’s Triple Jump
The results, Yargelis Sevigne (Cuba) winning comfortably over Olga Saladukha (Ukraine) with everyone else far behind, are a microcosm of the event in 2011. Expect the same to happen for the rest of the year.
