Here’s a clip of Washington starters Kristi Kingma and Aminah Williams after Tuesday’s 70-51 win against Pepperdine (2-4) at Alaska Airlines Arena. Kingma scored her 1,000th career point in the game, finishing with 17 against the Waves for 1,006 overall.
Williams, an undersized sophomore post, returned to that rebounder we saw last year in the postseason. Remember when she grabbed 16 for the Huskies (4-1) in the Pac-12 tournament? Anyway, she has three consecutive double-digit rebounding games and Tuesday was her second double-double of the season, finishing with 17 points and 15 boards.
WAVES SUPPORT: Pepperdine coach Julie Rousseau, a former Los Angeles Sparks coach, has been in contact with Tulsa Shock F Jennifer Lacy since the player was targeted by former girlfriend Chamique Holdslaw in an aggravated assault, criminal damage to property and reckless conduct incident earlier this month.
Lacy wasn’t hurt but her car windows were bashed and Holdsclaw allegedly fired gun shots into Lacy’s Land Rover. Holdsclaw was reportedly released from jail on $10,000 bail with an ankle monitor. The court date is Friday.
