With her 3rd place finish in the first stop of the Vans Triple Crown, Alana Blanchard has etched her name into the starting lineup of the 2011 ASP Women’s World Tour.
After one year off the ASP Women’s World Tour, Alana will be rejoining the world’s elite 16 females, right where she deservedly should be. And, with her back against the wall at Haleiwa, Alana defeated Silvana Lima, Sally Fitzgibbons, and others to battle her way into the final, where she finished up 3rd to Rip Curl teammates Stephanie Gilmore and Tyler Wright.
“Going into the event I didn’t even know I could qualify,” Alana stated. “After Steph won, Al Hunt told me I qualified, so I am really excited. But for now I am cruising and getting ready for Sunset. I really want to do well in the Triple Crown.”
In 2010, while tallying up qualifying points, Alana was also a major fixture on Rip Curl’s Tip 2 Tip Indonesian Search excursion, as well as a lead face in Rip Curl’s upcoming swim campaign. Look for her signature swim line “Alana’s Closet” to hit stores this month.
With a year off to sharpen her skills, Alana no doubt will be looking to do some serious damage on next year’s ASP World Tour season. Congrats Alana!
