The title fight will go down at UFC 168 in Las Vegas, NV December 28. The match will most likely serve as the main event.
Rousey armbarred Tate in their first meeting to win the Strikeforce bantamweight title, and was soon crowned the UFC champion. Rousey has yet to see the second round, having submitted Sarah Kaufman and Liz Carmouche in her last two matches.
Tate rebounded from the Rousey loss, getting an armbar win over Julie Kedzie. Tate would lose to Cat Zingano via TKO this past April; but would get the call to face Rousey after Zingano got a knee injury.
Rousey and Tate are wrapping up their coaching duties on “The Ultimate Fighter” this week. The show will air on Fox Sports 1 in September. From what UFC President Dana White has stated, there is no love loss between the rivals Rousey and Tate.
The match will air on PPV Dec. 28.
