The San Antonio Silver Stars signed forward Ashley Battle Thursday. The 6-foot forward out of Connecticut helped the Huskies win three consecutive NCAA Championships (2002-04).
A Seattle Storm second round (25th overall) pick in the 2005 WNBA Draft, Battle has career averages of 5.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 15.4 minutes per game in five seasons in the WNBA playing with the Storm and the New York Liberty. She tallied her most productive season with the Liberty in 2007 as she recorded 7.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.0 steals per game in 34 games, including five starts.
The 6-foot forward played in two games for the Storm in 2005 then signed with New York during the 2005-06 offseason and played with the Liberty for four seasons. During her time in New York, she played in 135 of 136 games and helped the Liberty reach the Eastern Conference Semifinals in 2007 and the Eastern Conference FinalsPowered by Sidelines
