That statement is too frightening to dwell on any further. There’s really no need to mention how it would set the USWNT back to a time before Alex Morgan was even around. The legitimacy of women’s soccer in the U.S. would be questioned, never mind the legitimacy of the top-flight professional league most of the USWNT players ply their trade in. Make no mistake, it would simply be catastrophic.
