I took a little break last week, to let my body and mind recover from some “oops” in my training. I’d somehow managed to double my training hours week over week, simply by missing 1 long weekend bike ride for 2 weekends in March. I had no idea it would have that negative an affect.
After backing off on the running and biking miles, Saturday we headed out to Phoenix Lake to do a run. The plan was to head up Eldridge Grade, I’d split off to head to Lagunitas via Walter Filter Plant trail and P would run on to Rock Springs to continue to Rodeo Beach for a much longer run.
Well we missed a turn on Eldridge and kept going up, up, up. We ran almost the entire thing, only a few short walk breaks. We didn’t realize where we were or what we’d covered, but the Elevation map up top pretty much covers it. Climbed 2,000 ft in about 6 miles. Whew! I didn’t even realize we were only 1/2 a mile from the peak of Mt. Tam!
It was a great run, awesome getting lost, body felt good and like it’s coming back to normal. Although I’m still not signing up for anything, I did enjoy my long run.Powered by Sidelines
