US Open Women’s semi-finals postponed by rain
The US Open women’s singles semi-finals will be played on Saturday because of the heavy rains over New York.
Serena Williams will take on Kim Clijsters, and Caroline Wozniacki will face Yanina Wickmayer.
Tournament officials were still holding out hope that they could complete a quarter-final match between Rafael Nadal and Fernando Gonzalez on Friday.
When rain halted play on Thursday night, Nadal led Gonzalez 7-6 6-6 with the Chilean serving at 2-3 in the tiebreak.
