Athletes getting involved in politics is nothing new. So, it was little surprise WNBA stars were part of the onslaught of tweets on the social-networking site Twitter, commenting about news that al-Qaida terrorist Osama Bin Laden had been found and killed May 1.
From the hilarious to the serious, here’s a sample from most teams in the WNBA. As of Monday afternoon, only representatives from Chicago hadn’t made their own statements about the historic news. Players from Tulsa were the most involved with practically every player with a Twitter account making a tweet.
