Carina Damm has an opponent for her TitanFC debut. Sarah Alpar has stepped up to take on the long time vet at the promotion’s June 10th event in Coral Gables, Florida. It will stream on UFC Fight Pass. Damm (22-12) is coming off back to back losses after winning four straight. She is a 12 year veteran of the sport and trains out of American Top Team.
Alpar (6-3) is coming off back to back wins and has a win over UFC fighter Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger.
Ilima-Lei MacFarlane and Rebecca Ruth will look to extend thier win streaks to four when they face off at Bellator’s Dynamite card in St. Louis June 24th. The match was announced last week.
MacFarlane (4-0) has won back to back fights in Bellator with her last being a submission win over Amber Tackett.
Ruth (6-1) won her Bellator debut over Lena Ovchynnikova by unanimous decision after three straight TKO wins. Her only loss was to Jocelyn Jones Lybarger.
The match is the joined by three other female bouts. Michelle Royer will face Katy Collins in a 130 pound catchweight bout; Nicole Smith and Ashley Cummins will square off at 110 pounds; and in a kickboxing match Tara Walker takes on Mimi Kutzin.
MacFarlane and Ruth will kick off the main card on Spike TV, while Royer versus Collins and Smith versus Cummins will stream on Spike.com. Walker versus Kutzin is expected to air on time delay the following weekend.
Paige VanZant has made it to the finals of “Dancing with the Stars”.
She did one of two final performances Monday with a second one tonight. The winners will be announced tonight as well.
No matter what, VanZant has a future in Hollywood. She has been announced as part of the cast for a sequel to the upcoming remake of “Kickboxer”.
The UFC have set new guidelines for weight cutting during fight week.
The promotion is recommending fighters come in no more than eight percent over their fight weight come fight week. That is 147 for bantamweights and 126 for strawweights.
No penalties will be assessed to the fighter for being over, but will be referred to a team that can help oversee their cut.
The UFC also made food and drink more accessible back stage after weigh-ins.
UFC 199 will be the first card under California’s new early weigh-in rules, where fighters will officially hit the scales at 10 a.m. the morning before the fights. The televised weigh-ins will most likely be for show.
Iman Barlow is out of the Glory flyweight tournament, or actually was never really a part of it.
Barlow went to facebook stating she never knew when she signed with Glory it was a tournament.
With Barlow out of the tournament, Irina Mazepa will take her place against Isis Verbeekin in the second quarterfinal fight at Glory 31 in Amsterdam, Netherlands June 25th. This will air on Spike TV.
Cat Zingano is getting ready for Julianna Pena in San Diego.
Zingano is training at Alliance for the match which is set for July 9th at UFC 200 in Las Vegas. The gym is home to InvictaFC champion Angela Hill, InvictaFC star Christine Stanley, and UFC strawweights Jessica Penne and Bec Rawlings.
Zigano is also expected to get some training in with Cyborg Justino in June.
Speaking of Justino, she is insistent that she will defend her InvictaFC 145 title July 29th at InvictaFC. UFC Tonight reported she would face Germaine de Randamie at 140 in the UFC that same weekend in Atlanta.
InvictaFC 18 was originally set for July 2nd, but has since moved dates. No location has been announced as of yet.
On that card, another title match is also being targeted as Jihn Yu Frey will take on atomweight champion Ayaka Hamasaki. Frey went instagram to let everyone know she has quit her job to focus full time on the title match.
Cage Warriors has a new streaming home.
The biggest European promotion has announced it has inked a deal with UFC Fight Pass. The organization has been home to several UFC and InvictaFC stars before making it to the big stage.
Claudia Gahdelia has declined the offer to carry the Olympic torch in her hometown.
Gahdelia would have done the torch run in June but cited several factors in not taking up the honor.
“I want to say that was an honor to have been chosen as one of the athletes to carry the Olympic torch,” Gahdelia stated. “Unfortunately I will have to decline the invitation.
“Just do not think that an athlete has to bear all costs of travel to attend the event. (which the prefecture demanded). Furthermore, it was given the start and I’m in fight camp, training daily for another victory and would be very hard to travel for attend this event.”
In related new, Gahdelia has opened a gym in Pennsylvania and will be a full time resident of the United States.
Angela Lee has signed a six figure contract with OneFC.
Several reports are saying the undefeated champions will make $110,000 per fight under the new deal, but did not disclose how many matches the contract is set for.
Lee won a $50,000 bonus in her “Fight of the Night” performance win over Mei Yamaguchi for the initial OneFC 115 title.
Several matches have been announced over the next few months in Tokyo, Japan.
- Rin Nakai will return to Pancrase facing Emiko Raika July 24th. She asked for her release from the UFC and will be dropping to flyweight for the fight.
- Also on the that card, Syuri Kondo will face Brazil’s Nicolle Caliari in a strawweight encounter.
- Fourteen year vet Hisae Watanabe will return to action June 19th at Vale Tudo Japan. Her opponent is yet to be announced.
- DEEP will have a atomweight contest between Satoko Shinashi and Proof Date June 26th.
BCMMA will crown three champions July 23rd in Colchester, England.

- Molly McCann takes on Clemence Schreiber for the initial 125 title
- Bryony Tyrell battles Mellony Geugjes for the vacant 115 title
Two of Oceania’s best fighters will battle as former InvictaFC title challenger Faith Van Duin will face POP champion Charlene Watt at Brace 41 June 17 in new Zealand.
Van Duin (5-2) won four straight to start her career. She upset Amanda Bell to earn a shot at the InvictaFC featherweight title. She will be dropping t 135 in this bout.
Watt (6-1) has finished in all but one of her wins and is one of the top flyweight prospects not signed to a major promotion.
The fight will stream on UFC Fight Pass.
Two InvictaFC vets will duke it out as Shannon Sinn faces Jenny Liou at flyweight at SCL MMA in Colorado June 25th. Also on the card Brittney Elkin takes on Kola Shippentower in a lightweight bout.
Gina Begley and Marissa Caldwell have been announced for Hardrock MMA July 16th in Florence, Kentucky.
Caldwell (2-5) is coming back after a five year absence from the sport. Before the break she had faced some of the toughest flyweights on the planet including Jessica Eye, Munah Holland, and Marianna Kheyfets.
Begley (0-1) is coming off her last minute InvictaFC debut, losing to Sijara Eubanks.
