Invicta has signed two familiar names in the WMMA community.
PXC vet Cortney Casey (3-1) is the former Tuff-n-uff flyweight champion and has finished in all of her wins as a pro.
Stephanie Skinner (4-5) is coming off a win over Kyra Batara by split decision at RFA this past November. She has won back to back.
Both were signed to XFC and was “released” by the promotion this past month.
In turn, XFC made two signings these past few weeks.
Australian kickboxer Claire Fryer (4-1) will be entering the promotion’s third season strawweight tournament. The four year vet’s only loss was to UFC fighter Alex Chambers.
Entering the season 3 flyweight tournament is New Zealand’s Kate Da Silva (8-2). She won the Princesses of Pain round robin flyweight tournament this past year, and was runner up in the Storm Damage tournament.
After suffering two losses and missing weight twice, Alexis Dufresne has been cut from the UFC. Her camp is telling us she will be going up to featherweight, so it will be intersting to see if Invicta or Bellator picks her up.
Cage Warrior’s bantamweight title contender and undefeated fighter Agnieszka Niedzwiedz announced this past week she is pregnant. She will be out for a year.
Season 3 of Australia’s “Wimp2Warrior” has started. Twenty women who have never fought will try to make the show, many who have never seen MMA. Forty men will joined them.
At the end of the season, those who make it through the several months of training will fight in a MMA card.
