15.5 Completed

The 2015 Crossfit Open has officially closed. My home gym, CrossFit Max Effort, hosted the 15.5 announcement, Thursday, March 26, 2015. It was a once in a lifetime event that sold out in a matter of days. All the former female CrossFit Champions were in attendance. Sam Briggs, 2013 CrossFit Games Champion, Annie Thorisdottir 2011 and 2012 CrossFit Games Champion and 2014 CrossFit Games Champion Camille Leblanc-Bazinet were there to complete the workout just as it was announced by Dave Castro with no idea as to what the workout would be. The 15.5 workout for RX’d females was a 27 calorie row, 27 Thrusters at 65 lbs, 21 calorie row, 21 Thrusters, 15 calorie row, 15 Thrusters, 9 calorie row and 9 thrusters as quickly as possible. Briggs completed the workout in 7:00, Thorisdottir 7:29 and Bazinet 7:51. All competitors had the option to redo the workout if they chose before the following the Monday at 5 pm PT.

The 2015 CrossFit Open was my first, I attempted 15.5 twice in attempts to help my team boost their score to get invited to Regionals. My first attempt was 9:37. My second attempt was 8:56. I finished 108th out of 6,068 women in the Southwest Region and 1702 out of 108,764 women worldwide. I will take those positions with pride being a mother of three and having just started CrossFit in September 2014. I have fallen in love with the sport and cannot wait to see what is yet to come. I am currently in limbo while I wait to see if CrossFit Max Effort earns a spot at Regionals and if I earn my place on that team. The journey continues…
