2014 FIBA World Championships for Women, Day 2: Team USA faces Serbia

After an uneven performance against China yesterday, Team USA will attempt to put together a more complete game against Serbia.

The biggest news of yesterday was Turkey beating the French team that had previously beaten Team USA in an exhibition game.

Today, Turkey will take on a Team Canada squad that got a bit of a test from Mozambique before pulling away, perhaps making this match the “Game of the Day.” That game will be on at 12 p.m. EST

Team USA will once again play the last game of the day, where they will play Team Serbia at 2:30 p.m. EST. The Serbians will be led by forward Jelena Milovanovic, who is a reserve on the Washington Mystics, but they are unlikely to pose much of a threat. Serbia is coming off a 102-42 rout of Team Angola on Saturday, where Milovanovic scored a team-high 16 points and also dished 3 assists.
