 Melissa Henderson: Soccer

 Henderson is a soccer player at Notre Dame, who has been named first team All-American, was a Honda Award recipient, and is on the schools top list in several categories.

An Interview With Notre Dame

Henderson was the first junior women's soccer player ever named Gatorade National High School Player of the Year (2006-07 season), was the 2007 NSCAA/adidas Youth Player of the Year and was a two-time NSCAA youth All- American (2006 and 2007). She went on to play at Notre Dame where she had an acceptional career. Her first year, she was awarded the Hermann Trophy winner, was named BIG EAST Rookie of the Year, and named to the first team Freshman All-America honors. Her second year at ND, she was awarded an MVP by Socer American, which is the equivalent to All-America status. During her junior season she won the Honda Sports Award and was nominated for an ESPY Award nominee for "Best College Female Athlete." She also helped lead the team to their third National Title. In her final year, 2011, she was named tri-captain of the Fighting Irish.
