on Why Cal is my new favorite team
Larence was one of the top recruits out of high school. She was second at the Texas state championships in the 100m breaststroke and 200m individual medley as a junior. She competed in the Olympic Trials in the 100m and 200m breaststroke while in high school.
She went on to compete at Auburn University. While she was there she became a 6-time All-American. She also was an SEC Champion three times, once in the 100m breaststroke and twice in the 400m relay. She was a CSCAA Academic All-American, a 2010 Pan Pacific Qualifier and a 2010 USA Swimming National Competitor. She was also a member of the U.S. National Team in 2010 and 2011.
At the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials, Lawrence place second in the 200m breaststroke, earning a spot on the Olympic team. She placed sixth in the final round in London.
