Weekend Road Racing Leaders

Faber grew up in Lansing, Michigan. Following her father's death, she moved to Richland, Michigan where she attended Gull Lake High School. As a high school freshman, Faber competed in basketball, volleyball and soccer. She settled on running after finding success in the sport early on.

She went on to compete at the NCAA DII school, Grand Valley State University. In 2002, took home her only All-American honor. She explains that it "may or may not have been the result of six inches of fresh snow on the National Championship course in Ashland, OH (the top four teams that year were from either Colorado or Michigan) but it was without a doubt one of my best collegiate performances."

Several years after graduating from Grand Valley State, she moved to Portland, Oregon. There she joined the Team Athena running club and started training more seriously. In 2008, she moved across the country once again, to Boston. There she joined the Boston Athletic Association and Coach Terrance Shea. In January 2013 she moved to Nashville, Tennessee.

She set her personal record in the marathon in 2012 at the Twin Cities Marathon. There, she ran 2:32:37.
