McGettigan is a professional Irish steeplechase athlete and Olympian.

Steeplechic: Roisin McGettigan
McGettigan is Irish born. She attended Providence College in Rhode Island where she ran cross country and track and field. She specializes in the 3,000m steeplechase. While at Providence she attended several NCAA Championships. In 2002, she placed 5th in the indoor mile. In 2005 she attended the World Final Championships where she ran the steeplechase, placing 9th overall. In 2006 she competed at the World Indoor Championships where she took home 13th place. In 2008 she qualified for the Beijing Olympics. She made it into the final round, finishing in 14th place.
