Dream head coach buys new home in Los Angeles

Michael Cooper has kept himself busy during the off-season by purchasing a home in the View Park area of Los Angeles.

Michael Cooper, head coach of the Atlanta Dream, has plunked down $1.1 million for a 4,300 square foot home in Los Angeles.  Let the Los Angeles Times tell you about it.

The Spanish-style contemporary, built in 1951 and since updated, features an open-space kitchen, a formal dining room, a sunken living room with a wet bar, four bedrooms and three bathrooms in 4,300 square feet.

…

Outdoors, landscaped grounds center on a kidney-shaped pool set beneath tall palms. A tile-lined patio completes the setting.

The pictures of the home from the Los Angeles Times web site look pretty sweet too.

Does this have any deeper meaning?  On the one hand, the Los Angeles Sparks need a coach and Magic Johnson, part-owner of the Sparks, is a good friend of Cooper’s.  On the other hand, Cooper was born in Los Angeles and as he won five championships with the Los Angeles Lakers he has an obvious connection with LA.

But at least it’s something to talk about during the off-season, while we imagine lounging in that kidney-shaped pool.
