2010 CoverGirl Classic

The 2010 CoverGirl Classic  - in Chicago, Ill. - is the final qualifying event for the 2010 Visa Championships, which is USA Gymnastics’ national championship scheduled for Aug. 10-14 in Hartford, Conn. The CoverGirl Classic has two levels of competition: the International Division, with elite junior and senior competition; and the Challenge Division, for up-and-coming gymnasts.

Formerly known as the U.S. Classic, the CoverGirl Classic is known for having a highly competitive field featuring many top gymnasts. Last year’s event featured 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist Nastia Liukin and 2008 Olympic Team Silver Medalist Samantha Peszek, alongside three U.S. 2009 World Championship medalists. Other past competitors and champions of this event include:

• Rebecca Bross, Ivana Hong, and Kayla Williams: 2009 World Championships Medalists
• Nastia Liukin, Samantha Peszek, and Alicia Sacramone: 2008 Olympic Medalists
• Shawn Johnson: 2008 Olympic Medalist, 2006 Junior US Classic Champion
• Jordyn Wieber; 2009 Tyson American Cup Champion, 2008 Junior US Classic Champion
