Better Than Ever - 6th Annual Girls Ride The Wake Goes Off In The California Delta

Lodi, California, July 21, 2014 – What has become the most anticipated event of the year for women wakeboarders on the west coast has just wrapped up, and it was the best edition ever. 52 girls from ages 5 to 56 converged upon the Delta for a fun-filled weekend of riding, learning, laughing, and meeting new friends who share their passion for shredding.

While most of the riders hail from California, many travelled from out-of-state to get in on the wake action, coming from as far as Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, Idaho and Texas. For many it has become a tradition and the highlight of their summer, to be a part of this one-of-a-kind experience. Coaching and mentoring was provided by Liquid Force’s Shelby Kantar and Danni Petraitis, CWB’s Andrea Ensminger, Raequel and Shawna Hoffman, and Hyperlite’s Evelyn Nelson and Nicole Key.

Girls of all ability levels were stoked to ride behind the best wakes in the industry as they were towed behind a fleet of G23s provided by Nautique, Superior Boat Repair & Sales, NorCal Hyperlite, and some very generous local G owners. An incredible raffle had girls bringing home super sweet gear from Hyperlite Wakeboards, Breathe Boardwear, Liquid Force, WakeWorld, Sheshreds.co, INDO BOARD, CWB Board Co., Boulder Boats Sales & Inventory, Red Bull, Boat Bling, Babe Shredder, SkullCandy, and Vicia Athletics. After the ladies made off with their awesome swag, the year’s best new wake films, Al Sur and Quiet Please, were shown on the big screen under the stars. On Sunday, if they had the energy after 3 sets on those massive wakes, ladies were invited to shred the cable at Wake Island Watersports.

Thanks to coordinator Lindsey Wentz, all of the sponsors, drivers, coaches and support crew for making this event possible, and of course to all of the girls who attended. We look forward to seeing you next year!
