According to multiple reports, Idaho star Destiny Slocum gave a verbal commitment to Washington on Monday. Under NCAA rules, UW can’t confirm any reports.
ESPNW has the 5-foot-7 PG ranked as the No. 4 prospect in the HoopGurlz Super 60 for the 2016 class. Slocum’s a Mountain View (Meridian, Idaho) junior who also considered Duke, Oregon and UCLA, according to the Idaho Statesman.
Slocum told KTVB (Idaho) via text message on Monday that “everything just felt right” about her visit to Washington. “I’ve loved the feel of the coaches and school since the first day I stepped foot on (campus)!” she summarized in the message.
There was also a Twitter post Monday night from Slocum, including a changed profile header to the UW logo.

Slocum led Mountain View to its first district title in school history as a sophomore last year, averaging 22.2 points, 3.5 assists and 2.7 steals per game. She’s likely the top recruit in Washington coach Mike Neighbors’ 2016 class.
UW tips its second season under Neighbors on Nov. 14 with a matchup at Oklahoma. The Huskies’ nonconference home-opener is Nov. 20 against South Dakota at Alaska Airlines Arena.
Washington opens Pac-12 play at Arizona State (Jan. 3, 2015) and Arizona (Jan. 5, 2015). Both games will air live on the Pac-12 Networks.
