Your feet are not flat. They're rounded in the heel, contoured in the arch, and uniquely shaped in the forefoot.
What if there was an active shoe that actually custom molded to your unique foot? What if this technology offered you the phenomenal support of custom orthotics? How much better would you feel?
Want to win a pair of Kurus?
The perfect casual walker, the Kuru Insight offers a practical design with superior support. The patent-pending KuruSole™ midsole cradles the foot unlike any other walking shoe. In addition, the outstanding forefoot flexibility allows your foot to work naturally, improving your workout.
With a smartly placed mesh forefoot and tongue, the White/Gray model gives unbelievable breathability, keeping your foot comfortable and dry. The Black model offers a stylish canvas forefoot that is reinforced with an eco-friendly process that makes it more than twice as durable as traditional canvas.

I look first for support in the arches as I have very high arches. I also look for good heal support and cushion. After those two things, I want my shoe to be stylish, but not trendy.... oh and well made! =)

I look for good support for my whole foot...I have Morton's Neuroma/Plantar Fascitis as well as comfort so that if I am on my feet all day, I can come home and not feel any type of discomfort/pain in my feet. I do like a little style but comfort and support are more important to me.

Its all about comfort and support. Looks are important but not a priority. I would love a shoe that I could wear all day and not have sore feet. The shoes on the market these days are mainly crap. I've been wanting to try a pair of Kurus for a while now since I moved to Utah. I heard they can help with plantar-faceitus....

Shoes that have good arch support, since my feet flatten out when I walk.
Friday, December 10, 2010 at 11:40pm PST
I look for a good amount of cushioning and support a shoe has. I do a LOT of walking - the shoes have to be comfortable first and foremost.

I look for comfort and durability. I walk in all sorts of terrain so they need to be tough to survive me.

Since I have fairly big feet, I always make sure that the shoe actually exists in size 11.5-12. (-: Then, arch and comfort come into play. Also, a shoe that maintains a strong back near the heel, but doesn't wear away quickly.
Highlighted you on my new website (that promotes entrepreneurs) this morning - http://nudgevillage.squarespace.com/daily-nudge/2010/12/11/sign-up-for-a-free-drawing-for-women-free-shoes-from-kuru.html
and liked both you and Kuru on Facebook.
Also, the shoe has got to look good. I don't care what anyone says - when we make the mistake of not carrying, we all have a moment we consider an embarassing shoe moment.
Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 9:29am PST
Talk about embarassing (in my last comment) - I meant "caring" in the next to last sentence, not "carrying." (-;

I want shoes that can do it all. I want comfort and great supportive fit. I want them to be able to perform in all conditions on all terrains. I also want them to look great!
Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 9:31am PST
The most important thing I look for when buying shoes is NO HEEL....not even a wedge! I don't have any joints in my forefeet, so even a little bit of a heel pitches me forward and I fall on my face! (People think I am drunk!) Then, I have to have excellent arch support. Finally, since I can only wear flat shoes, it is fun if they can look funky --- instead of grandmotherly. Thanks for listening!

what i look for in shoes is support around the arches and comfort in the heels. I also look for shoes that give me support on the ankles so my ankles don't roll.

The number one thing I look for is arch support and comfort. I am on my feet usually 21 hours a day, and if I don't have a great pair of shoes my feet really hurt at the end of the day. Don't really care about color or style as long as the support the arch, are comfortable, and last for more than 6 months.

I look for comfort and support. To me your feet are one of the most important parts of your body and you must do what you can to take good care of them. Comfort and support is what I look for before style and price.

My feet are narrow, with arches are very high, and if the typical shoe is any indication, they are in a weird spot too! So shoes that feel good with these issues are paramount.

Comfort for my high arches. And Style
Sunday, December 12, 2010 at 9:50pm PST
First I look for support and comfort. After that, style is important to me. I won't wear them if they are ugly.
Monday, December 13, 2010 at 4:44am PST
I look for support for my arches as they are weak. I take as many precautions as I can to gain greater stability there. Cushioning is important as well, especially when I have to trek all day.
Monday, December 13, 2010 at 7:50am PST
I usually look for a running shoe, something that is comfy and durable, I also like alittle bounce as well and a low ankle to prevent rubbing.

I look fir stability first, comfort
Monday, December 13, 2010 at 2:38pm PST
comfort is #1

I look first for how it fits my arch and ankle. Even though I have flat feet, I need a high arch due to heel spurs. Also, has to hug my ankle well. With a narrow heel, my heel tends to slip out with each step, which can lead to blisters. I need something that will hold up itself and me on a 3-4 day NYC trip. The last shoes I tried failed miserably.
Monday, December 13, 2010 at 9:56pm PST
I have Plantar Fascitis so I look for a show with excellent support and esp arch and heel comfort. I want stability yet some flexibility in my shoe. Comfort is the key..
