Day two of racquetball has concluded at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, and again the surprising results came in doubles. The USA men's team of Chris Crowther and Shane Vanderson lost to Costa Ricans Felipe Camacho and Teobaldo Fumero, 9-15, 15-12, 11-7.

But that wasn't the only surprising result in men's doubles, as Colombians Juan Torres and Francisco Gomez defeated Bolivians Ricardo Monroy and Roland Keller, 15-7, 6-15, 11-3.

Then in women's doubles, former Canadian Véronique Guillemette, who's now playing for Argentina with Dafne Macrino defeated her former team-mates Canadians Josée Grand'Maître and Brandi Jacobson Prentice, 15-10, 15-10.

Earlier in the day, Chilean Angela Grisar, former top 4 player on the Women's Professional Racquetball Organization (WPRO), retired midway through the second game of her match with Maria Cordova of Ecuador, losing 14-15, 8-7 - retired. Apparently, Grisar's nursing a knee injury.

But Grisar did play her doubles match, and won that with Carla Munoz, as they defeated the Dominican Republic pair of Claudine Garcia and Yire Portes, 3-15, 15-8, 11-5.

The racquetball competition has two parts. An individual competition, which will run Monday to Saturday (Oct 17-22) and a team competition, which will run Sunday Oct 23 to Tuesday October 25.
