Guess who has the Gaffigan Family Pullup Record? That’s right I DO. 27 pullups. Set the record when I was in 2nd grade and my big brother still hasn’t been able to beat it, and trust me he’s worked on it.

Jason claims he can beat the record no problem once he’s eligible (we’re not married yet so he can’t have a record). I believed him because I have faith in my man, but after seeing this video from today that supposedly proves he can do 30 pullups (see below), I feel somewhat betrayed:

We have pride in the Gaffigan Family. We like to do things right and not cut corners. This video is a classic example of cutting corners. When I was 8 years old and set the record, it was during gymnastics class. My coach was very strict. We were not allowed to swing our legs OR bend them or in any other way use them to get momentum going and get over the bar. Speaking of getting over the bar….Our chin had to be OVER the bar every single time or it didn’t count. Once you either used your legs or didn’t get your chin OVER (not even with) the bar, you had to stop.

So, in conclusion, I did 27 REAL pullups to get that record, which I have yet to see Jason do.
