EDITOR'S NOTE: AnnGaff and LesleyHiggins are writing these previews for the USA Track & Field Championships, taking place this weekend in Eugene, OR, based on their firsthand Track & Field experience. Gaffigan and Higgins competed against each other in college, with Gaffigan representing the Nebraska Huskers and Higgins representing the Colorado Buffs. Both women competed last year in the 3000m Steeplechase at the Olympic Trials. This year, the two are spectators-from-afar of the USATF Championships/World Team Trials; Higgins is out with a broken foot and Gaffigan gave birth to a baby girl in May.
400m Hurdles:
1st Round: Thursday, June 25 at 4:00pm
Semi-Final: Friday, June 26 at 4:50pm
Final: Saturday, June 27 at 5:15pm

Though 2-time US Champ and Beijing Olympian Tiffany Williams tops the list of entry times, her time is from last season. For the 2009 season, 2005 World Silver Medalist Lashinda Demus leads not only the US list but the World list with her 54.17, and 2008 Beijing Silver Medalist Sheena Tosta trails closely with her 54.19 season best.
Look for this to be a tight and exciting race between Demus and Tosta, with the victory going to the woman who can avoid tying up on the homestretch.
