The Ultimate Female Fighter and TUFF for Life, a non-profit organization, are putting out a calendar to help benefit female fighters.
From their website:
“Tuff for Life” is dedicated to serving female ring-based fighters (MMA, Muay Thai, Boxing, Kickboxing, BJJ and Wrestling) who are in need of emergency medical care, emergency travel expenses, or to cover the cost of fight gear, training/gym services, tournament fees and/or fight-related travel expenses and more.
Besides the selling of the calendars themselves, there are several ways you can help out.
There is also voting for who should be on the cover of the calendar. For more info go to TheUltimateFemaleFighter.com.

This is a great idea! I'm curious as to how they'll divide up all of the money? There are a lot of fighters out there. Or are they starting a fund that fighters will apply for grants from?

Hi Ann - thanks for asking such a great question and we're so thrilled you like our idea! It'll be the latter; as a female fighter, when you find you're in need, then you would apply for funding. If we have it, and your request is legit...we'll help you! Go here for more info! http://bit.ly/rWHA0o

By the way, the way the voting works is that you go here: http://bit.ly/uBbbcp to vote for your favorite fighter(s), and the 13 most popular get to be on the Calendar! Each will be featured on their own Month. ;-)

Great idea to look after injured fighters. Interesting that your site links to other orgs as well. I'm also a bit unclear on how this might work - maybe we could do an email interview for my sports-blog? (www.niamhgriffin.blogspot.com)
