Professional Women’s Hockey League at UBS Arena

The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) is launching with 72 games across eight venues, featuring teams from Boston, Minnesota, Montreal, New York, Ottawa, and Toronto. UBS Arena, home of the New York Islanders, is one of the selected venues.

UBS Arena President Kim Stone expressed excitement about hosting PWHL games, highlighting the significance of this development for women’s sports.

“I’m proud that women’s hockey is getting a beautiful new building to call its home for several games during this historical moment in women’s sports history.”

The New York team, featuring 26 top players, includes Alex Carpenter, an Olympic silver medalist and world champion, and Abby Roque, the first indigenous Olympic hockey player and a top NCAA scorer. Micah Zandee-Hart, a defensive standout and former Cornell University co-captain, joins them.

PWHL New York’s General Manager Pascal Daoust anticipates a premier sports experience at UBS Arena, emphasizing the professional standards of the league.

New York’s team will play four of their 12 home games at UBS Arena, with others at Total Mortgage Arena, Connecticut. The season schedule ensures each team faces off at least four times, with a pause for the PWHL 3-on-3 Showcase and the IIHF Women’s World Championship.

Playoffs are set to begin on May 6. Tickets, ranging from $17 to $47, are available on Ticketmaster.com, with season and half-season plans offered
