It was been years in the making, but Glory Kickboxing will finally have a women’s tournament. The promotion announced Thursday via facebook (see video at the bottom of the article) an eight woman 122 pound tournament which sees several familiar names to the kickboxing and MMA worlds. USA’s Tiffany VanSoest (14-2-1, 5 KO) along with 18 year old Moroccan kickboxer Emma Hasshass (9-2, 3 KO) will officially kick off the tournament Friday. Both came in on weight with Van Soest tipping the scales at 121 while Hasshass came in at 119. The match will stream on UFC Fight Pass.
Popular English fighter Iman Barlow will face the Netherland’s Isis Verbeek (8-2, 5 KO) June 25th in Amsterdam in a battle of Enfusion vets.
Bellator tournament champion Zoila Frausto (4-0, 2 KO), who has been doing Muay Thai the past few years, will face Germany’s Daniela Graf (23-4-1, 2 KO).
France’s Amel Dehby (27-0, 11 KO) will face Korean striker Ji-Waen Lee (13-2, 3 KO) to round out the tournament.
A reserve bout has also been announced between Russia’s Irina Mazepa and South Africa’s Ferial Ameerodien.
The winner will receive $25,000 and be crowned first ever female Glory kickboxing champion.
All bouts will either stream on UFC Fight Pass or air live on ESPN 3.
