On Saturday, Louisville defeated Baylor 56-39. The Cardinals will be playing in their first ever Elite Eight.

Maryland came back from an 18-point deficit in the first half to defeat Vanderbilt 78-74. Marissa Coleman scored a career high 42 points for the Terrapins.

Iowa State made an 8-0 run against Michigan State with 1:09 remaining to advance to the Elite Eight. Heather Ezell banked in a three point shot to bring the Cyclones within two points with 1:01 on the clock. Alison Lacey's three at the top of the key gave Iowa State a one-point lead and the 69-68 victory.

Stanford will be advancing to the Elite Eight for a second straight year with a win over Ohio State. Buckeye freshman Samantha Prahalis led the team in scoring with 19 points and 6 assists. Jayne Appel recorded a double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds.

UConn came back from an 8-point first half deficit to roll past California. By the way, an 8-point deficit for the Huskies is analogous to a 30-point deficit for anyone else. Freshman Tiffany Hayes stepped up, scoring 28 points, 7 assists, and 2 steals.

The Arizona State Sun Devils upset Texas A&M 84-69. Only leading by 5 points with 4 minutes remaining in the game, Arizona State was able to extend their lead to 10 points with the starters sitting on the bench. The Sun Devil's showed their depth and fast paced play can do damage in the NCAA tournament as it returns to the Elite Eight for the second time since 2007.

Purdue held on late to defeat Rutgers 67-61. Lakisha Freeman led the Boilermakers with 18 points, 5 assists and 6 rebounds. I missed most of the first half of this game due to Women's Professional Soccer, but from what I read Purdue got out to an early lead, which it never relinquished. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Purdue's championship in 1999.

Oklahoma finally got over the hump and will be advancing to the Elite Eight with a win against Pittsburgh. Either way, Courtney Paris gets to keep her scholarship money. The school said it wouldn't accept a reimbursement, but Courtney can make a $64,000 donation.
