Suppose you were the head of programming at a cable channel dedicated to the sport of tennis. Now suppose there were a significant foreign tournament final scheduled for the middle of Friday night in the United States. Would you air the final as soon as possible the next day, thereby allowing most fans to watch it before the news filtered in about its result? Or would you stick with your awful pre-programmed filler and air the tape of the semis three days late on Saturday afternoon, and the final more than twenty four hours late on Sunday, thereby giving fans almost no chance to avoid knowing what happened? Which one indicates a better commitment to the sport? Just saying.
In another final, one that won't air at all so I'm not spoiling anything, Wickmayer stormed back from her hellish past few months to cap the Belgian weekend with an upset victory. So there.
