MS. ROGERS NEIGHBORHOOD: Two student fans are topless with "We [heart]" and "Regina" on their chests. Tonight they don't have to be embarrassed by the body paint as Rogers is dominating the paint, scoring 12 points on 5-for-7 shooting. The Huskies are shooting 62.9 percent from the field, holding the Warriors to 1-for-17. UW leads 51-8 with 2:19 remaining before the break.

ROUTE ON: I figured this game should be near perfection for Washington because of Corban College's inability to compete with a healthy, deep, experienced UW squad. The Huskies are lively on defense and already up 30-6 with 10:17 remaining in the opening half. Sophomore reserve Charmaine Barlow is in the game, only playing a few minutes in the SPU win. Jackson is trying different looks and the inside game continues to shine. Washington, which shot about 27 percent from three-point range last year, is 1-for-4 from beyond the arch tonight.

THREE MINUTES: Now that's the type of opening you expected from Rogers. In about three minutes of play, she got three good looks at the hoop inside and made an assist to Mosiman for a layin to make the score 5-0 UW. Most importantly, she didn't get tagged for a single foul. McLellan was substituted in and made a fast break layin off a Whitcomb pass to help the Huskies lead 11-2 with 16:02 remaining in the opening half.

Washington forwards Liz Lay and Lydia Young remain out of the lineup due to knee soreness. They're missing tonight's exhibition finale against Corban College at Hec Ed.

But based on last year's blowout, Lay and Young wouldn't receive much of an advantage playing against the NAIA competition, aside from a good run. Coach Tia Jackson opted to hold the players out in preparation for the regular-season, which begins on Saturday at Portland State.

The hope is redshirt sophomore center Regina Rogers plays better tonight. The Warriors have a small, fast-paced lineup. But at 6-3, Rogers could use her size effectively. Anything would be better than getting tagged for fast fouls to end up on the bench.

Yet, that would give senior post Laura McLellan a chance to show consistency, which she lacked last year. She led the Huskies in the exhibition opener win against Seattle Pacific with 18 points.
