Serena and Venus Williams to play at Rogers Cup 2010 tennis tournament

Serena Williams and her sister, Venus Williams, will be playing at the 2010 edition of the Rogers Cup tennis event in Montreal next season.

Tennis Canada announced the Williams have confirmed their participation at their tennis event that will be played from August 14-22 and will have US$2-million in prize money.

“The restructuring worked in 2009. We have to believe it’ll be the same in 2010,” said Montreal tournament director Eugene Lapierre.

The top women have to play four of the five events in the “Premier 5″ category, which includes the Rogers Cup. All top 10 chose Montreal.

Venus and Serena will be joined by Kim Clijsters and Justine Henin, who also commited for this event.
