A woman's place is in the House...and the Senate

I'm a student-athlete at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. I'm graduating in May with a BS in Organizational and Public Communication and a minor Recreation Management. I love running most days. Steepling is my forte, or at least I'd like to think so;). My goal is to strive for women's equality in athletics and in life.

I have just forgone my early morning run because I felt this strong urge to write something--well, I should mentioned that I did attempt this run. I got a 2 minutes in and then realized that as long as I have the writing/blogging bug and the ability to postpone my run until after work (AND have a runner buddy--my younger brother Marcus) I thought I might as well take the chance. Usually it's a lose-lose situation really. I enjoy my runs more when I wake up at 5:30 but I hate my evenings and the fact that the bed looks so amazing at 8:30, but I absolutely hate running after work. I'm sure some of you know what I'm talking about... you're legs feel heavy, you are stiff from sitting all day, and truthfully the last thing you want to do after you have been forced to keep your brain alert for 8 hours is push your body and mind even more. Well, today I'm taking that chance of dreading my run so that I have a little more energy to speak with you. (oh the sacrifices...;-) jkjk).

I have kept a "post-it" on my iPhone for all these thoughts that have popped into my head the last few months, in the hopes that some day my brain will be inspired and awake enough to write it all down. Since I'm in that wonderful position right now, here goes!

A while back Willy's sister, Alicia, gave me this shirt. Apparently it has been passed down from several women and I am the most recent, lucky receiver.

The first thing that came to mind when I received this T-shirt is Betty Sutton. I don't know much about her or what she stands for, but when I do know is that the comment made to her is ridiculous! Check this out
