It looks like Pete Carroll of USC will be headed to the Seattle Seahawks.

Carroll

It also looks like the off season is going to be very interesting as far as head coaches in the NCAA Division 1 are concerned. With openings all over the country at schools like Notre Dame, South Florida, Texas Tech, Florida State there are bound to be shake-ups at other schools as those spots are filled. With other NFL positions open, or rumored to be open, the waters become even murkier.

Couple coaching (and other staffing changes,) with some top schools graduating a top-rated senior class (see Florida Gators,) and other schools losing key players to the NFL draft, and you have a 2010 NCAA season ripe for stories galore, not to mention huge shake ups in the top 25. (The post season rankings are a whole other story. Don’t get me started.)

Is it any wonder I’m giddy with excitement?

Updated before I even publish: ESPN is reporting that Tommy Tubberville will be going to Texas Tech, after being rumored to be going to USF. See? Crazyness! Now what will Ruffin McNeil do? Stay? or will other schools look at his impressive job during the Alamo Bowl and want him for their own?
